Our
Children's Program is called
“Champion’s Church”
Our
goal is to assist our parents in raising “champions”
for God’s Kingdom.
God
called Gideon a champion.
“The Lord is with you O champion.”
(Judges 6:12 NAB)
Saul
called upon David to be a champion, “There is
my older daughter, Merob, whom I will give to
you in
marriage if you become my champion
and fight the battles of the
Lord.” (I
Samuel 18:17 NAB)
Who
are champions?
Champions are winners
who are not defeated.
They are victorious overcomers!
They are not weak,
but “strong in the Lord.”
Ephesians
6:4 commands us to
“bring them (children) up in the training and
admonition of the
Lord.”
Genesis
18:19 says,
“he may command his children and his household
after him that they
keep the way of the Lord.”
Children
are to be trained up in God’s way.
By the time they reach 13 or 14
they should KNOW
·
Who they are in Christ.
·
How to be victorious
and overcome the attacks of the enemy.
·
How to draw upon the
strength of the Lord.
The
world’s way is to let children grow and learn by default.
Then in the teenage years we expect them to somehow,
on they
own, “figure
out” who and what they are.
We say that we hope they “find
themselves.”
But
this is NOT God’s way.
